Don’t get ripped off!
The best way to make money promoting poker online is to use not just one, but use several sites. If you already have an income as a poker affiliate, why not use some of that income to purchase another website.
I’m not going to reveal the exact number of sites I run, but I will tell you it is over 10. I’ve had many companies rip me off since I’ve started as a poker affiliate. Part of the reason I do this blog is not only to make money, but to stop you from making the same mistakes I did. When you click on a like on this site you are usually signed up under me at a particular site. That is what blogging and making money online is all about! I help other poker affiliates from making the same mistakes I made. Here are some ways you may get ripped off as a poker affiliate:
1) If you offer free money for people to join sites; they might create 10 accounts and use different emails and rip you off 50$ for each account. The poker sites won’t care too much because they are making rake.
You lose because it just cost you 500$ to sign up one shady player who is going to have his account frozen very soon!
2) This year I took a very bad affiliate beat from Doyles Room. They sold all 200 players I sent to them to Full Tilt without compensating me 1$!!!!! I spent 6k promoting their site! Not only that but they had a guy running their affiliate program who also had his own affiliate - rake back site WEDOITALLVEGAS.COM. When I got so many conversions he asked me how I was doing it. At the time I did’nt know he had his own site so I told him. He then copied my idea 10 fold! When you have a great idea for a site or marketing plan - DON’T TELL ANYONE! Don’t give free money to people to join sites unless you know and trust them!
Don’t trust a site because they have Doyle Brunson or anyone elses name on the site!
3.) Don’t put all you eggs in one basket! Since I trusted Doyle Brunson so much, I invested heavily into promoting his site. BIG MISTAKE! I’m doing the same thing with Full Tilt right now. So tomorrow I plan on promoting Mansion poker, and several other rooms too.
4.) Promote more than just poker sites. Don’t rely so heavily on making money online promoting poker.
Try other sources of online income.
5) Use escrow.com for money transactions. Don’t give money upfront when purchasing a poker site or domain.
6.) Don’t use shady site to buy traffic. Sites that say 10000 visitors for 200$ or some crap like that.
Instead of just one site for promoting poker, try 4 poker sites and one non poker site. Perhaps a directory or photo-hosting site. Maybe it can be a resource site for your poker sites… I have several food sites, photo-hosting sites and video sites.
Outsource your programming for less.
