New Full Tilt Commercial w/ Tom Dwan aka Durrrr

He has frustrated players for years online. He has played the best players in the world both live and online and won money from them all. He is also one of the newest Full Tilt Poker pros on the roster, and now, he has his own commercial. This he is Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The newest Full Tilt Poker commercial features a rather dapper looking Dwan going up to a table with a mirror and then explaining to viewers how he started playing poker. In the mirror you see Dwan’s idols playing and Dwan imitating them. The pros he “imitates” are Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. Finally, Dwan explains that he learned to play like himself.

A very simple ad, but the commercial has impact. Dwan is one of the first Full Tilt red pros that have been featured in a commercial that rose to superstar status after the “Poker Boom.” Dwan is most known for his high stakes play both online and on television. Only in the last couple of years has Dwan been eligible to play in live tournaments, but he primarily sticks to the live games online where he won and lost Millions.

Dwan made headlines last year for starting up the Million Dollar Poker Challenge with Patrik Antonius. This 50,000 hand challenge is still going on with Dwan currently holding a commanding lead. However, it was a relative unknown that made the biggest headlines against durrrr. Last year, Isildur1 racked up over $5 Million in winnings in a short time span against durrrr before losing it all back to other pros.

Since that loss, Dwan has rebounded strong and has erased most of that loss. He also is among the leaders this year in money won online. Of course, now that Dwan is beginning to be marketed heavily by Full Tilt, it will be interesting to see whether he can keep up an aggressive online schedule while meeting his obligations. One thing is for certain and that is wherever Dwan is playing, fans will surely rail.
