Take what people say in forums with a grain of salt!
Take the advice you get at Digital Point forums or any other forum with a grain of salt. I recently posted a site and domain for sale there and received $50 offers for a $1100-$3000 site. The domain was Mylovespace.com and it’s been appraised for 180-1800$ just for the domain. I invested $120.oo in script and $500.00 in labor. It is also PR2, so people are not just buying a domain name, but a whole site and some back-links.
I have seen some good poker sites for sale on Sitepoint and other sites, but for the most part if they are for sale there is something wrong. Either it gets 0 traffic or it is banned on Google. Usually the posts are garbage web-site for sale listings and if it is a good site people come in and low-ball offers. Occasionally there is a quality site, but then it gets priced really high.
The poker domain I sold for 11k a couple months ago the people on digital Point told me all I could get was registration fee! If I took their advice I would be out $10,993. So take my advice abut not taking forum advice too seriously.

Nice domain sale! You are right. Do not take everything you read in a forum seriously. Just because someone types it, doesn’t make it so. A domain, or any item, is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Most people that are at those forums have no clue to what the value of something is. They could be telling people something is worth so much less than it is because they want to buy it from them and flip it for a profit. It’s great that you didn’t listen to then and were able to sell it for that much.
