Texas Holdem Poker Player Turned Poker Blogger
Texas Holdem Poker Player Turned Poker Blogger
Poker as most of you already know has become one of the most popular hobbies for both men and women and millions of people around the world currently are poker players. I’ve been a poker player for the past five years or so and have loved every minute that I’ve been sitting at the tables. Poker hasn’t always been profitable, but one thing is for sure you will never have a dull moment.
Over the years of playing poker and reading websites and blogs to improve my poker game I’ve noticed all of the promotions for different poker rooms. I’ve recently decided that I would figure out what all those poker promotions are about and have become a poker affiliate. I’ve set-up a blog on wordpress and have been working on adding content and links to the blog currently.
As we all know unique content and incoming links are very important to your success and without working on these two aspects you’ll never make any money. After building up my content and links it’ll be time to start finding poker rooms that you want to promote. There is no point adding a bunch of advertisements and promotions on your blog until you’ve got some traffic coming into your blog. Once you have traffic established then it’s time to start adding ads onto your blog.
The poker world is a very profitable one if you can build websites and have the time to promote them. There are two common revenue plans available known as revenue share and cost per acquisition. The different is that revenue share will pay you a percentage of the players rake for life, whereas on a CPA plan you’ll be paid a pre-determined amount for each qualified player. I generally use the CPA plan as I like receiving my money upfront and not have to hope the player is active.
When you’re starting out in the poker industry you should target a niche, some people try targeting everything and it just isn’t possible. There is no way you’ll compete with the major poker websites who cater to every poker topic imaginable. You need to be willing to take a piece of the pie and work on a niche. My poker blog which I started is solely geared towards Texas Holdem.
It will take time and work in order to become a successful poker affiliate, but I have both of those and the desire to make money. If you’re also willing to work and have the time then you should also jump into the worthwhile niche of poker. Thousands of people work as poker affiliates and you could to with a little bit of effort. This website has tons of information regarding the poker affiliate world and you should make sure that you check out all we have to offer.
